Complete 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Bracket

BEREA, Ohio – The No. 12 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team has been selected to the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament.

Earning an automatic bid to this year's national tournament after claiming the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, BW will make its 16th overall appearance in program history, all under head coach Cheri Harrer, which is the most of active OAC teams. This will be the Yellow Jackets third consecutive NCAA Championships appearance, after there not being a national tournament last season.

BW will travel to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and will take on Salisbury (Md.) University, who earned an at-large bid out of the Coast-to-Coast Conference, in the first-round matchup on Friday, March 4. On Saturday, March 5 the winner will play the winner Gettysburg College, automatic qualifier out of the Centennial Conference, and Morrisville State University, the automatic qualifier out of the United East Conference. Tip-off times are not available at this time but will be announced shortly.

The Yellow Jackets are joined by two other OAc schools in the national tournament, No. 14 nationally-ranked John Carroll University and Marietta College.

This season, BW also claimed a share of the OAC regular season title. The Yellow Jackets have been led by senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) as she has led the OAC, averaging 16.9 points and also averages 8.4 rebounds per game. Edwards has also shot 52.3% from the field and totaled eight double-doubles. During the regular season, the Yellow Jackets only fell to four high-ranked opponents, including No. 1 Hope (Mich.) College, No. 7 Trine (Ind.) University, and No. 12/13 John Carroll, while beating #19 Marietta (74-48).

During her 32nd season, all with BW, Harrer holds a career record of 642-232 (.735) with 10 regular season titles and eight tournament championships. With this year's tournament win, the Yellow Jackets now lead the OAC in regular season and tournament title sweeps with eight, previously being tied with Capital University at seven after the 2019-20 campaign.
