BEREA, Ohio – The No. 17 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team defeated Muskingum University by a final score of 60-38 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

Muskingum (7-6, 2-4 OAC) was first to the basket, taking an early lead. The Yellow Jackets (9-2, 6-0 OAC) wasted no time catching up and took the lead at the six-minute mark when senior First Team All-OAC performer and Academic All-OAC forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) made two free throws. BW held their lead for the remainder of the first quarter. The second quarter featured back-and-forth action as the Muskies chipped away at BW's lead. At the buzzer, sophomore guard Emily Irwin (Pickerington/Watkins Memorial) made a step-back three-point jump shot to send the Yellow Jackets into halftime leading 31-23.

In the third quarter BW worked to strengthen their lead, outscoring the Muskies 17-10. The Yellow Jackets carried their 15-point lead into the fourth quarter as the Muskies attempted to close in. With four minutes left in the contest, senior Academic All-OAC guard Megan Hensel (Upper Sandusky) boosted the Yellow Jackets lead to 20. The matchup ended by a final score of 60-38 with BW taking the victory.

With nine points each, Muskingum was led by freshman guard Kenzie Bicking and junior guard Casey Smith.

Edwards led BW with 13 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
