Department of Athletics Announces 2022 Clyde Lamb Award Winners

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University Department of Athletics has announced its Clyde Lamb Award winners for the 2021-22 academic year

The Clyde A. Lamb Awards are presented annually to 10 male and 10 female student-athletes from each of the Ohio Athletic Conference institutions. Criteria for the award includes at least two years participation in an OAC-sponsored sport, senior status, a minimum GPA of 3.00 and sportsmanlike conduct in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete and his or her institution.

All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC women's basket forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) and All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC wrestler Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) were selected by the coaching staff as the female and male Clyde Lamb Award recipients. 

Edwards ended her illustrious career as one of the top women's basketball players in school history.  She is among the school's all-time leaders as she ranks third in points per-game with 13.99, third in free throws attempted, fourth in points scored with 1,357, fourth in rebounds-per-contest with 7.53, fourth in free throws made with 308, fifth in field goals made with 523, fifth in field goals attempted with 1,048 and seventh in rebounds with 730.   Edwards was a four-time All-OAC selection, three-time OAC Player of the Week Award winner, two-time Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American, a D3hoops.com All-American, D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region second-team selection, the 2022 OAC Tournament Most Valuable Player and the 2019 OAC Freshman of the Year. 

Off the court, she is an exercise science major that carries a 3.783 grade point average.  Edwards was a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, a two-time College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 selection, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Bleich finished off his stellar career as the school's all-time wins leader with 136 victories.  He recorded 35 major decisions, 10 pinfalls and six technical falls.  Bleich was a five-time All-OAC selection, four-time OAC Wrestler of the Week Award winner, three-time All-Central Region selection and three-time NCAA Division III national qualifier.

Off the mat, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and religion and is pursuing a Master's in business administration. Bleich was a four-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, three-time Academic All-OAC selection, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and the 2021 BW Kenneth Steingass Most Outstanding Male Athlete Award recipient.

Edwards and Bleich will honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference at the Clyde Lamb Banquet on Monday, May 16 at The Point at Otterbein located at 60 Collegeview Road on the campus of Ottebein University in Westerville.
