Two BW Tracksters Compete on First Day of NCAA Division III National Championship Meet in Iowa

GRINNELL, IOWA --  Two Baldwin Wallace University indoor track and field student-athletes, sophomore heptathlete Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) competed today (Friday, March 9) on the first day of the 2012 NCAA Division III National Track & Field Championship Meet at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.

Eddy, who entered the meet ranked first nationally in the heptathlon, a seven-event and two-day competition, stands third after four events with 2,752 points. He ran the 60-meter dash in 7.43 seconds, long jumped 20'8.5", high jumped a career-berst 6'7.5" and threw the shot put 35'8.75". Tomorrow he competes in two of his best events, the 60-meter hurdles and pole vault as well as runs the 1000 meters.

In addition to competing in the heptathlon, Eddy also placed 11th individually in the pole vault with a vault of 15'3.5".

In addition to Eddy competing tomorrow, is junior Zach Marinucci (Brunswick).
