CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field teams competed today (Saturday, March 17, 2012) on the final day of the annual University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet. The meet includes schools from Division I, II, III, NAIA and the Junior College ranks.
For the men, junior Zach Marinucci (Brunswick) and senior Miles Moore (Gettysburg, Pa./Delone Catholic) finished second and fourth respectively in the men's shot put. Marinucci had a distance of 16.37 meters and Moore 15.83 meters.
In addition, senior Mitch Supan (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) finished eighth overall in the men's discus throw with a distance of 47.45 meters. Marinucci had a throw of 47.09 meters placing ninth overall. Finishing tenth overall, was the men's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of freshman Dannie Mack (Massillon/Washington), Cody Smith (Brunswick) and seniors Mike Smith (Wintersville/Indian Creek) and Dan Sloat (Medina)with a time of 3:22.16. Mike Smith also finished 14th overall in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.11 meters.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action March 31, when they compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet (East) at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
