Men's Lacrosse Dominates Transylvania (Ky.)

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team faced Transylvania (Ky.) University for a non-conference matchup to conclude their spring break trip inside of the Pat Deacon Stadium. The Yellow Jackets cruise past the Warriors and pick up the victory by a 14-7 final score.

BW (4-2 overall) was led by freshman attack/midfielder Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North) as he totaled a career and game-high six goals. Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference goalkeeper Joe Storner (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) finished with 17 saves, allowing seven goals.

Transylvania (1-5 overall) was led by senior midfielder Dalton Hubbs as he notched two goals. Freshman attack Casey Fagan and sophomore attack Tai Stormont each finished with a goal and an assist. 

1st Quarter

  • 13:22 - BW got on the board first with a goal by senior attack/midfielder Olin Ferguson (Tulsa, Okla./Booker T. Washington)
  • 12:31 - Another BW goal by junior All-OAC attack Jake Nanosky (Medina) put the Yellow Jackets up 2-0
  • 12:01 – Yellow Jackets' goal by B. Trout, assisted by freshman midfielder Ian Shealy (Westerville/Central)
  • 9:51 – BW goal by Ferguson, his second of the day, assisted by junior Academic All-OAC attack/midfielder Keaton Trout (Pickerington/North) to extend the lead to 4-0
  • 6:19 – Transylvania got on the board with a goal from Setter
  • 4:36 – The Yellow Jackets tallied another, scored by junior midfielder Noah Bartos (Lancaster, N.Y.), assisted by Nanosky (5-1) 

2nd Quarter

  • 14:07 – The Yellow Jackets maintained control of the game, tallied a goal by freshman attack/midfielder Reichen Geiselhart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley)
  • 10:49 – BW goal by junior Academic All-OAC attack/midfielder Rhys Leach (Canton/GlenOak), assisted by Nanosky
  • 8:24 – Goal by Yellow Jackets' K. Trout, man-up, assisted by senior All-American midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake/St. Edward), 8-1 BW
  • 7:29 – Yellow Jackets' goal by B. Trout, assisted by K. Trout, and held the Pioneers scoreless in the second quarter and went into the half leading 9-1

3rd Quarter

  • 13:50 – BW goal by B. Trout, securing the hat trick, assisted by Aquilla
  • 13:10 – The Yellow Jackets struck again with another goal by B. Trout, assisted by Aquilla (11-1)
  • 6:19 – Goal by BW B. Trout, his fifth of the day
  • 0:55 – Goal by Transylvania Geisler, assisted by Fagan

4th Quarter

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, March 15 as the team hosts Allegheny (Pa.) College on the Tressel Field inside of the George Finnie Stadium. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
