Aquilla and Randall of Men’s Lacrosse Tabbed as Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans

BALTIMORE, Md. – Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference short stick defensive midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake/St. Edward) and senior defender Neil Randall (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Palos Verdes) have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Division III Preseason All-America team.

Aquilla and Randall, who both earned honorable mention All-America accolades and were first team All-OAC selections last year, are the only OAC players to appear on the Preseason Inside Lacrosse All-America teams.

Last season, Aquilla appeared in all 18 games and scored a career-best 15 goals, eight assists (fourth on the team), totaling a career-best 23 points. On the defensive end, he was third on the team with 45 ground balls and was fourth on the team causing 19 turnovers.

In his career, Aquilla has totaled 69 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers, and 24 points.

Randall, who was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Year last season, was fourth in NCAA Division III and set the BW program record with 61 caused turnovers. He appeared in and started all 18 games for the Yellow Jackets and was second on the team with 65 ground balls. Randall also added two goals and two assists.

Randall has posted 109 ground balls, 94 caused turnovers, has won nine faceoffs, and added six points.

The Yellow Jackets open the season on Saturday, February 18 as they host No. 12 nationally ranked Denison University. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
