WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Tony Tatro, senior goalkeeper Joe Storner (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) and freshman attack Bennet Trout (Pickerington/North) have been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year to lead an OAC-best 12 BW players on the All-OAC squad.

Tatro, in his second season, garners his second straight Coach of the Year Award. This season, he led the Yellow Jackets to their third consecutive Regular Season title with an overall record of 16-3 and a 9-0 mark during conference play. He led the Yellow Jackets to their third consecutive OAC Tournament Championship game and the fourth overall in program. The 16 wins breaks the record at BW and after starting the year 0-2, the Yellow Jackets held a 16-game win streak until the fall in the OAC Tournament, another program record.

Storner, who earns his third conference accolade and was named Defensive Player of the Year, led the OAC in save percentage (68%), goals against average (5.99), goals against (102), wins (16), games played and started (19), and second in total saves (217). 

This season, he broke his own single season record in saves, wins, starts, and save percentage. Storner was also named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week four times this season and was selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Dynamic Team of the Week two times. 

In his career, Storner has totaled 624 saves, being the first Yellow Jacket to surpass the 600-mark. All-time, he also ranks first in career save percentage (62.7%), second in career goals against average (7.55), second in career wins (42), second in career minutes played (2,955:44), and second in career starts as a goalkeeper (56), tenth (all players) in career games played (58), and 17th in career ground balls (97). Storner also holds this single game record in saves, notching 21 saves twice.

B. Trout was named this year's Rookie of the Year and landed on the second team after leading BW in points and goals scored (36). Of the top performers, B. Trout also led in shot percentage. 

B. Trout had a career-high of six goals in the win over Transylvania (Ky.) University and on the season, added 17 assists, 40 ground balls, and 15 caused turnovers.

Senior midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake) earns his third consecutive first team award after being second on the team in total points this season. Aquilla was third on the team in goals scored (32) and second on the team in assists (19). He also added 32 grounds balls and 13 caused turnovers. 

Aquilla was named an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American this year, and earned USILA All-America honors and Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region (IMLCA) honors last season. In his career, Aquilla ranks 9th in caused turnovers (42), 11th in goals (47), 12th in assists (28), 13th in points (75), 14th in ground balls (101), and 16th in games played (56).

Junior midfielder Noah Bartos (Lancaster, N.Y.) earns his first conference accolade and lands on the first team. Bartos played in all 19 games for the Yellow Jackets, tallied 22 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, three goals, two assists, and was crucial in the team's success this year.

Senior attack Kyler Byerly (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earns his third first team honor after totaling 46 points (33 goals, 13 assists) this season. Byerly notched his 100th career goal in the win over Marietta College and added 24 ground balls on the year. He also ranks ninth in the OAC in goals scored this season.

Byerly was named to the IMLCA All-Region team last season and was named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week on March 21, 2022. In his career, Byerly ranks second in goals (109), first in goals per game (2.06), third in shots on goal (192), third in total points (169), fourth in points per game (3.19), fourth in assists (60), fourth in assists per game (1.13), and 20th in games played (53).

Senior defender Academic All-OAC defender Neil Randall (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Palos Verdes), who earns his third first team All-OAC honor, led the team and the OAC again in caused turnovers (47) and was third on the team in ground balls (51).

He was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022, and this season broke BW's All-Time Caused Turnovers Record. Randall now totals 140 in his career and also ranks fifth in ground balls (157). He was named an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American this year, and last year was a USILA All-American and an IMLCA All-Region honoree. Randall also ranks T16th in games played at BW.

Earning second team honors are B. Trout, senior defender Adam Blose (Butler, Pa./Butler Area), senior Academic All-OAC defender Richie Roskoph (Strongsville), and junior Academic All-OAC midfielder Keaton Trout (Pickerington/North). 

Blose, who earns his third straight second team All-OAC award, played in all 19 games this year for the Yellow Jackets. He was second on the team in caused turnovers this year with 24 and added 33 ground balls. In his career, he is sixth all-time in caused turnovers (62), tied for 10th in games played, and tied for 10th in ground balls. 

Roskoph, who earns his second consecutive conference award, also played in all 19 games this year. He improves on last season's honorable mention recognition, notching a career-best 51 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. Roskoph was second on the team in ground balls and added three goals and an assist. In his career, he is seventh all-time in caused turnovers (61), ninth in ground balls (121), and 13th in games played.

K. Trout, who earns his first conference award, played in all 19 games for BW this season and led the team in assists. K. Trout tallied 29 points, adding nine goals, and posted 16 ground balls and two caused turnovers. In just his third, he already ranks 14th all-time in assists and tied for 12th in assists per game. He was also named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week on April 10 after totaling nine points (two goals, seven assists) in the shutout win over Wilmington College. 

Earning honorable mention honors this year are junior Academic All-OAC attack Jake Nanosky (Medina), senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Declan Tubbs (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), and sophomore face-off Zach Zoul (Strongsville). 

Nanosky earns his third straight conference award, and played in 17 games this season for the Yellow Jackets. Nanosky was fourth on the team this year in points, totaling 23 goals and 18 assists. He also added 28 ground balls six caused turnovers. In his career, Nanosky has been named OAC Offensive Player of the Week two times and holds the freshman record in goals per game, assists, points, points per game, and shots on goal. All-time at BW, he ranks fourth in goals scored (notching his 100th in the OAC semifinal win over Ohio Northern University), second in assists (79), second in points (179), fourth in goals per game (2.00), second in assists per game (1.58), second in points per game (3.58), and fourth in shots on goal (184).

Tubbs earns his second straight conference award as a short stick defensive midfielder, playing in 18 games this season, posting 21 grounds balls, and seven caused turnovers.

Zoul earns his first conference award after going 136-261 on faceoffs this year. Zoul also led the team in ground balls, tallying  74, and added two goals and three caused turnovers. Zoul ranks fourth all-time at BW in faceoffs won (189), fourth in faceoffs taken (352), and fifth in faceoff percentage (.537).

BW finished the season as the OAC Regular Season Champions they posted a 16-3 record with a 9-0 mark in the OAC.
