BEREA, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse Head Coach Tony Tatro has announced the addition of Mike Perrino as assistant coach.

"We are excited to welcome Mike to our coaching staff," Coach Tatro noted. "His experiences as a coach and player will add immediate value to our offense. Coach Perrino's passion and work ethic will help propel our lacrosse program to uncharted territories both on and off the field. We are thrilled to add him to the Yellow Jacket family."

Perrino comes to BW after serving as an assistant coach at St. John Fisher University. He was a part of the Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year last season and helped guide the Cardinals to a regular season and tournament championship. Perrino assisted in coaching the Empire 8 Player of the Year, 16 All-Conference selections, nine United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America recipients, and one National Player of the Year.

Preceding his time at St. John Fisher, Perrino was an assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan University and John Carroll University, coordinating the offense and was the goalie coach. Perrino has assisted the head coach in every program with coordinating practice plans, creating strength and conditioning programs, and helping in all facets of operations.

"Coach Tatro and the staff have done a phenomenal job building the Yellow Jackets into a nationally competitive lacrosse program," Perrino commented. "I would like to thank Coach Tatro, and the rest of the Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department, for this opportunity and for making me feel at home during the interview process. I look forward to getting to work right away to help Baldwin Wallace reach new program heights."

Perrino has also coached for multiple travel lacrosse teams, including Resolute Lacrosse for a year, Burning River Lacrosse for 13 years, and Force Lacrosse Club for four years.

Prior to coaching, Perrino played NCAA Division I lacrosse and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Canisius (N.Y.) College. He also played professionally for two seasons with the Major League Lacrosse Ohio Machine team in 2017 and 2018, earning a MLL Championship in 2017.

BW ended the 2022 season with an overall record of 14-4, 9-0 in league play, and were Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions.
