In addition to Brown and Ameen for BW, sophomore guard Scott Voiers (Westlake/ Lutheran West) had 12 points and sophomore point guard Promis Cabbil (Elyria/ Senior) had 11 points. The Scots (3-8) were led by junior guard Jordan Redditt with 10 points, but have lost two straight games.
Keys to Yellow Jacket victory were outrebounding the Scots, 45-33, including 19 on the offensive boards, and made 92.3 percent of its free throws by canning 12-of-13.
In the first half, Alma began the game with three leads of two points each with the last at 8-6 with 17:50 left when junior forward Jake Weiss made a three-pointer. BW tied the game and 8-8 and 10-10 and then took control by outscoring the Scots 13-6 to build its third straight 7-point advantage at 23-16 with 9:33 left before halftime when Brown made a 17-foot jump shot. The Yellow Jackets increased their lead to nine points on two occasions with the last at 31-22 with 6:58 left when freshman guard Brandon Schmidt (Wellington) canned a three-pointer.
Alma then went on a 5-0 run to close the lead to 31-27 with 5:16 left when freshman guard Greg Silverthorn. BW went on a 4-0 run of its own to move the lead to eight point at 35-27 with 4:01 left before halftime when Cabbil made a layup. The Scots outscored the Jackets 6-2 the remainder of the stanza and trailed by just 37-33 at the break.
In the second half, Alma continued with nine straight points to run its streak to 12 straight points and turn a four-point deficit into a five-point lead at 42-37 with 18:27 left when Redditt made a steal and layup. Undaunted, BW scored eight straight points to retake the lead at 45-42 with 14:31 left when Schmidt canned another trey. The Yellow Jackets then went on a 18-5 run and the lead grew to 16 points at 63-47 with 8:27 left when Voiers made a pair of foul shots. The largest lead was 17 points at 71-54 with 3:12 left when junior guard Zane Meeder (Erie, Pa./ Fairview) made a pair of foul shots. The closest Alma was able to get was the final score.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 6 when they host the Mount Union College Purple Raiders (5-7, 3-2) in an Ohio Athletic Conference contests in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center in Berea at 7:30 p.m.

BW resumes Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 6 when it hosts arch-rival Mount Union College at 7:30 p.m. in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center in Berea.
