Women's Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Amy Adams Invitational and Weems Baskin Relays

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Amy Adams Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) finished first in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 36:50.80. Murphy's time breaks a 34 year-old BW record, previously set by Peggy Fortune in 1990.
  • Freshman Alanna Barnett (Sheffield Lake / Brookside) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.16.
  • Junior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished second in the 100-meter dash finals in a time of 12.44.

Field events highlights:

  • Freshman Faith Timko (Wooster) placed fifth in the high jump with a distance of 1.45 meters.
  • Junior Abby Lorincz (Avon) finished seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 9.86 meters.

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x100 meter relay squad, Collier, sophomore All-OAC Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Northview), sophomore Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name), and freshman Ilana Tucker (Wooster) placed second in a time of 51.11.

Select members of the women's outdoor track and field team competed at the two-day Weems Baskin Relays, hosted by NCAA Division I University of South Carolina. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Freshman All-OAC sprinter Bri Hay (Miami, Fla. / Miramar) placed 23rd in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.38. Hay also finished 26th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.84.

Field events highlights:

  • Freshman Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) placed ninth in the high jump with a distance of 1.51 meters.
  • Freshman All-OAC shot putter Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) finished 10th in the shot put with a distance of 12.73 meters.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Thursday, March 28 as they compete at the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility, hosted by NCAA Divison I North Carolina State University.
