Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at the Third Jud Logan Light Giver Open

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Third Jud Logan Light Giver Open hosted by Ashland University. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) placed first in the one-mile run in a time of 4:54.79. Murphy broke her own BW indoor one-mile record as she's currently ranked eighth in the nation.
  • Junior All-OAC runner Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished fourth in the 400-meter dash elite in a time of 56.68. Collier is currently ranked fifth in the nation as she broke the BW indoor 400-meter record.

Field event highlights:

  • Freshman Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) placed seventh in the shot put with a distance of 12.42 meters

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 meter relay crew, Murphy, freshman Rylee Barno (Columbus / Bexley), sophomore Katie Plecko (Rootstown), and freshman Alanna Barnett (Sheffield Lake / Brookside) finished 11th in a time of 4:17.33

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. as they host the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
