OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Bob Kahn Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College. The meet was unscored.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Freshman Faith Timko (Wooster) placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:12.83. Timko also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and finished sixth in a time of 17.19.
- Sophomore Charlotte Jones (Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) placed fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:20.15.
- Freshman Rylee Barno (Columbus / Bexley) finished fifth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 5:06.06.
- Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.72.
Field events highlights:
- Junior Lilly Johns (Garrettsville / James A. Garfield) finished fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 34.34 meters.
- Junior All-OAC Emily Torres (Berea / Berea-Midpark) placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 10.53 meters.
- Freshman Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) finished seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 9.86 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the 4x400 meter relay squad, Barno, Plecko, freshman Alanna Barnett (Sheffield Lake / Brookside), and junior Erica Bowers (Martinsburg, W. Va. / Hedgesville) placed second in a time of 4:14.36.
Select members of the women's outdoor track and field team competed at the three-day Raleigh Relays, hosted by NCAA Division I North Carolina State University. The meet was unscored.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Junior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) placed 53rd in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash, with a time of 25.20 in the 200-meter and 58.33 in the 400-meter.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter Bri Hay (Miami, Fla. / Miramar) placed 68th in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.44. Hay also finished 82nd in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.11.
Field events highlights:
- Freshman All-OAC shot putter Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) finished 37th in the shot put with a distance of 12.28 meters.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 6 as they compete at the Marv Fyre Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
