Collier and Murphy Compete at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) and junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) competed at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Coastal Carolina (S.C.) University at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Collier finished 22nd in the 400-meter dash preliminaries in a time of 58.22, falling short of a qualifying spot to the finals. This was her second appearance at the national level.

Murphy competed in the 1500-meter run prelims and the 800-meter run prelims. In the 1500-meter run, she qualified for the finals after placing first among all heats in a time of 4:31.86. In the 800-meter run, her 21st place finish (2:18.03) missed the mark for the finals. 

Murphy is back in action on Saturday, May 25 for the third and final day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She will compete in the 1500-meter run finals at 4:25 p.m.
