Women's Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Harrison Dillard Twilight

BEREA, Ohio - Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed in the second and final home meet of the outdoor season, the Harrison Dillard Twilight, inside of the George Finnie Stadium. Each student-athlete competed in order to obtain a qualifying mark to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet this month.  

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:09.27. Murphy also competed in the 1500-meter run, finishing seventh in a time of 4:35.87
  • Junior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.90
  • Freshman All-OAC Alanna Barnett (Sheffield Lake / Brookside) finished ninth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.58

Field events highlighted:

  • Freshman All-OAC thrower Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 13.01 meters
  • Freshman Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) finished 10th in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters 

BW is back in action on Thursday, May 16 for the Mount Union Last Chance meet and the Augustana (Ill.) Midwest Twilight Qualifier.
