Chosa, Hay, and Others Earn All-OAC Honors; Women's Indoor Track and Field Places Fourth After Day Two of OAC Championships

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team finished in fourth place after the second and final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Muskingum University.

BW was fourth of 10 teams with 98 points. University of Mount Union won the OAC Indoor Championships with 199 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included: 

  • Freshman All-OAC sprinter Bri Hay (Miami, Fla. / Miramar) earned her first indoor All-OAC honors after finishing second in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.77.
  • Junior All-OAC distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) earned her fourth indoor All-OAC honors in the 800-meter and second honors in the one mile run. She finished first in the 800-meter with a time of 2:14.80, and second in the one mile with a time of 5:03.51. Murphy was also crowned the 2023-24 Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year.
  • Sophomore All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown) earned her first indoor All-OAC honors after finishing second in the 1000-meter run in a time of 3:03.66.
  • Junior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) earned her second All-OAC honors of the indoor season and her first in the 200-meter dash after placing second in a time of 25.41. 

Field events highlights:

  • Freshman All-OAC shot putter Amyah Chosa (Jemez Pueblo, N.M. / Jemez Valley) earned her first indoor All-OAC honors after placing third in the shot put with a distance of 40' and 11".

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 meter relay crew, CollierMurphyPlecko, and sophomore Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Northview) earned indoor All-OAC honors after finishing second in a time of 4:04.33.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 2 for the Mount Union Final Qualifier and Tufts Qualifying Meet.
