Baldwin Wallace Women's Tennis Team Defeats Cross-Town Rival Case Western Reserve, 8-1

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team defeated cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 8-1, today (Monday, March 30, 2009) in University Circle. The win was the fifth in the last six matches for the Yellow Jackets. 

 
With its win, BW is 5-9 overall while Case Western fell to 1-11 overall.
 
In singles play, freshman number two player Jenny Greene (Worthington/ Thomas Worthington), junior No. 3 player Andrea Essig (Conneaut/ Ashtabula Edgewood), sophomore No. 4 player Emily Pelosi (Uniontown/ Green), senior Academic All-OAC No.5 player Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y./ Orchard Park) and sophomore No. 6 player Katy Marshall (Medina/ Senior) each won.
 
In doubles play, the No.1 duo of sophomore Caitlyn Pecinovsky (Whitehall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley) and Marshall, No. 2 tandem of Essig and Pelosi and No.3 duo of Greene and Trampert all won.
 
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, March 31 when they host OAC rival Heidelberg College on the "Pop" Collins Courts in Berea at 3:30 p.m.  On Saturday, April 4, the Yellow Jackets continue OAC competition when they travel to Westerville to take on Otterbein College in a match at 1:00 p.m.
