BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore number one singles player Caitlyn Pecinovsky (Whitehall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Co-Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Pecinovsky posted a 2-0 mark at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles last week. She defeated Capital University's Robin Burnette in straight sets on Friday, April 17 and was victorious over previously unbeaten Amanda Carraher of Marietta College in a three-set tiebreaker on Saturday, April 18.
Pecinovsky and teammate Katy Marshall (Medina/ Senior) ran their #1 doubles mark to a team-best 12-6 with a pair of victories and have now won eight of their last 10 doubles matches for a Yellow Jacket team that has won nine of their last 10 matches overall.
BW, 9-9 overall and 6-0 in the OAC, travels to University Heights tomorrow (Wednesday, April 22) to play cross-town rival John Carroll University at 3:30 p.m. Should the Yellow Jackets win, they would set up a showdown with arch-rival and unbeaten Ohio Northern University (7-0 OAC) on the "Pop" Collins Courts in Berea at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
