Baldwin Wallace Women's Tennis Team Defeats Heidelberg, 9-0, to Stay Unbeaten in the OAC

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team shut out Ohio Athletic Conference rival Heidelberg College, 9-0, today (Tuesday, March 31, 2009) at the "Pop" Collins Courts in Berea. With its win, the BW women remain unbeaten at 3-0 in the OAC.

 
In addition, the Yellow Jackets, now 6-9 overall, won their sixth dual match in their last seven since returning from their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  Heidelberg is now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
 
In singles play, sophomore number one player Caitlyn Pecinovsky (Whitehall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley), freshman No.2 player Jenny Greene (Worthington/ Thomas Worthington), junior No. 3 player Andrea Essig (Conneaut/ Ashtabula Edgewood), sophomore No. 4 player Emily Pelosi (Uniontown/ Green), senior Academic All-OAC No.5 player Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y./ Orchard Park) and sophomore No. 6 player Katy Marshall (Medina/ Senior) all won.
 
In doubles play, the No.1 duo of Pecinovsky and Marshall, the No. 2 tandem of Essig and Pelosi and the No.3 duo of Greene and Trampert all won.
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 4 when they travel to Westerville to play OAC-rival Otterbein College in a match at 1:00 p.m.
