BEREA, OHIO -- The 2009 Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team opened its winter/spring season today (Saturday, February 7, 2009) with a 5-4 dual match loss at Oberlin College in Oberlin.
In singles play, junior number three singles player Andrea Essig (Conneaut/ Ashtabula Edgewood), sophomore No. 4 player Emily Pelosi (Uniontown/ Green) and senior No. 5 player Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y./ Orchard Park) all won.
In doubles action, the No. 1 duo of sophomores Caitlyn Pecinovsky (White Hall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley) and Katy Marshall (Medina/ Senior) won.
BW is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when it travels to Gambier, Ohio to play a dual match against Kenyon College at 2:00 p.m. The Jackets then travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina for their annual Spring Break Trip from March 8-14. The Yellow Jackets open the 2008 OAC season on March 20 when they host Muskingum College at the "Pop" Collins Courts at 3:30 p.m. The 2009 OAC Tournament begins on April 30 at the Lindner Family Courts in Mason, Ohio.
