Five Baldwin Wallace University Women's Tennis Players Named All-OAC

Complete All-OAC Team and Special Award Winners

BEREA, OHIO -- Five members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team have earned 2008-09 All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades. Highlighting the selections was a first-team nod for sophomore number-one singles and doubles player Caitlyn Pecinovsky (Whitehall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley).

In addition to Pecinovsky, sophomore No. 4 Emily Pelosi (Uniontown/ Green) and freshman No. 2 Jenny Greene (Worthington/ Thomas Worthington) were named second-team All-OAC. Junior No. 3 Andrea Essig (Conneaut/ Ashtabula Edgewood) and senior No. 5 Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y./ Orchard Park) were tabbed as honorable mention selections.

Pecinovsky, a 2007-08 second-team selection, posted 12 wins at No. 1 singles and teamed with sophomore Katy Marshall (Medina/ Senior) for a 15-9 mark at No. 1 doubles. Pecinovsky also was named the OAC Co-Player of the Week on April 21.

Pelosi was 16-11 overall, including a 13-8 mark at No. 4 singles. Greene compiled 13 singles wins, including eight at No. 2, and was named the OAC Player of the Week on March 23. Essig won nine matches at No. 3 singles and was a part of 11 victories at No. 3 doubles.

Trampert posted a team-best 20-7 record while competing at No. 5 singles and was a part of 12 doubles wins at No. 2. Trampert, a 2007-08 honorable mention selection, also is BW's 2009 female Clyde Lamb Award winner, symbolic of the school's most outstanding female student-athlete. She finished her career with a fine 48-19 record and was a part of 44 doubles wins. Her 48 singles victories is tied for seventh all-time in BW history.

The Yellow Jackets finished the season at 13-11 overall and placed second in both the OAC regular season and OAC postseason tournament.
