Baldwin Wallace Senior Center Ariel Brough Named OAC Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior center Ariel Brough (Powell/ Olentangy Liberty) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in the Yellow Jackets' eighth straight victory on Saturday. 

Brough scored a team-high 18 points as BW won, 59-58, at Wilmington College on Saturday (January 23, 2010). She also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots without committing a turnover.

For the season, Brough is averaging 10.3 points-per-game and 6.8 rebounds-per-game with an OAC-best 42 blocked shots. In 103 career games at BW, the 6'2" center has 742 points, 589 rebounds and a school-record 212 blocks.

Brough is a two-time ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV and Academic All-OAC selection and is on the ballot for each honor again this winter. She carries an outstanding 3.97 grade-point-average in political science.

The Yellow Jackets, 13-4 overall and tied for first in the OAC at 9-1, are back in action this Wednesday, January 27 versus OAC and cross-town rival John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m. at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
