Men’s Soccer Team Falls to JCU, 1-0

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team was defeated by John Carroll University, 1-0, tonight (Tuesday, October 25, 2011) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at the Don Shula Stadium.  

The match also had implications on next week's OAC Tournament.  The Blue Streaks have secured a first round bye and will be the number two seed while B-W will go into the tournament as the third seed and host a quarterfinal match on Monday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m.   Ohio Northern will be the top seed in the tournament.

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 14-4 and 5-3 in the OAC and John Carroll improves to 11-7 overall and 7-1 in the OAC.

The Blue Streaks scored the lone goal of the game at the 14:02 mark of the first half when Mariusz Trzeciak found the back of the net off the assists from Kevin McKamish.

Despite the loss, junior goalkeeper Ryan Hulings (Centerville) had four saves.

B-W outshot John Carroll, 23-10 and won the corner battle, 5-3.

The Yellow Jackets will conclude the regular season this Saturday, October 29 when they will travel to New Concord to face the Fighting Muskies of Muskingum University in an OAC match on the Muskie Field at 3:00 p.m.
