BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer defeated Oberlin College, 2-0, tonight (September 6, 2011) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. The contest was the first home match of the season for the Yellow Jackets.

 With the victory, the Yellow Jackets are now 2-1 overall and and the Yeomen fall to 0-3, overall. 

 The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at the 38:34 mark of the first half when junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Pat Brennan (Akron/ Walsh Jesuit) scored his team-leading second goal of the season off an assist from senior midfielder Noah Eubanks (West Bloomfield, Mich.). 

B-W extended its lead at 7:44 mark when midfielder Pete Childerson (Alliance) scored his first goal of the season on a header off the corner kick from senior midfielder Andy Thompson (Huron) as the Yellow Jackets led 2-0 going into halftime.

 Oberlin scored the only goal of the second half at the 30:14 mark  when Oliver Miller-Farrel scored on a break away to cut the lead to, 2-1.

 B-W outshot the Yeomen, 12-7, but the Yeomen outcornered, the Yellow Jackets,  9-2.

 In net, B-W junior Ryan Hulings (Centerville) played all 90 minutes and made three saves to earn his second win.

The Yellow Jackets will next travel to Danville, Kentucky to face Hanover (Ind.) College on Friday, September 9 at 5:00 p.m.. B-W will then play Centre College on Saturday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.

 On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO).  This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line.
