BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College junior men's soccer student-athlete and midfielder Pat Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been named as a CAPITAL ONE Division III first-team Academic All-American. This is the highest honor a Division III student-athlete can receive.

Brennan is the fifth Yellow Jacket men's soccer student-athlete to earn Academic All-America accolades and first since Matt Pietro and Tommy Ehrnfelt in 2006-2007. In 1984-85, Mike Waters was the Academic All-America of the Year in men's soccer and one of three B-W's student-athletes to ever earn that acclaim.

Brennan, who carries a 3.79 grade point average in B-W's 3:2 Master's of Business Administration in Accounting Program, is one of the best midfielders in NCAA Division III soccer.  He is a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection and two-time Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District student-athlete.  On the field, he has helped the Yellow Jackets to win 41 matches and compile a 41-19-5 record in his first three seasons, including the school's first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament this fall.

Individually, Brennan has appeared in 62 matches, taken 129 shots, including 61 on-goal, scored 19 goals and added 16 assists for 54 career points. He was B-W's "Rookie of the Year" in 2009 and has twice earned OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week accolades.  In the classroom, he is a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Alpha Sigma honoraries, is a Jacket Scholar and consistent member of the Dean's List.

"We are extremely proud of Pat and this honor," said 10th-year Head Coach Reid Ayers, who was a scholar-athlete soccer standout as a student-athlete at Hiram College. "He is truly deserving of this honor and every honor that he receives.

"Pat is the epitome of the Division III student-athlete who is a leader in the classroom, on campus and on the field," continued Ayers. "Our younger student-athletes have learned a great deal from Pat and a number of our other scholar-athletes.  Pat is a great role model."

The Yellow Jackets finished 16-6 overall and lost 2-1 to Final Four finalist SUNY Oneonta (N.Y.) in the NCAA Division III national tourney.
