BEREA, OHIO – Junior midfielder Kirk Graf (Ashland/ Senior) scored his first collegiate goal and the match-winner at the 109:40 mark of overtime as the Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team defeated host Penn State Behrend University, 2-1, today (Sunday, September 4, 2011) in the consolation round of the annual Herb Lauffer Tournament in Erie, Pennsylvania. B-W opened the tourney by losing in overtime yesterday.

 The Yellow Jackets, 1-1 overall, received its first goal from senior midfielder Andy Thompson (Huron).  In goal, junior Ryan Hulings (Centerville) faced eight Lion shots and made three saves.

 Penn State Behrend grabbed a 1-0 lead with the only goal of the first half when Jake Gamble scored at the 37:07 mark via an assist from Kyle McKInney.  The Yellow Jackets tied the score at the 47:07 mark when Thompson scored his first goal this season and the sixth of his career. The goal was unassisted.

 In the overtime, B-W dominated as it outshot PSB, 3-0, and outcornered the Lions, 3-1.  For the game, B-W won the battle of shots, 11-8, including taking the final six and 10 of the last 11 shots of the match. PSB took just one shot in the final 64-plus minutes.  The Lions did outcorner B-W in the game by an 11-7 count.

 B-W is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 6 when they host traditional rival Oberlin College in The George Finnie Stadium in Berea at 7:00 p.m.

 On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO).  This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line.
