Men’s Basketball Drops OAC Contest to Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team was defeated by Otterbein University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 78-59 inside the Rike Center.

BW (5-16, 2-12 OAC) was led by sophomore guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland/St. Edward) as he scored a game-high tying 14 points

Otterbein (13-7, 8-6 OAC) had four players score in double figures led by the trio of senior All-OAC guard Cam Evans, sophomore guard Julian Heckman and freshman forward Chase Garito all with a game-best tying 14 points. Senior guard Jack Clement chipped in 13. 

1st Half (OTT, 39-26)

  • The Cardinals took a 13-2 lead on a three-pointer by Alex Hannah at the 12:24 mark.
  • The Yellow Jackets cut the lead down to 26-15 on a layup by at 5:09
  • Otterbein outscored BW 13-11 the remainder of the half

2nd Half (OTT, 79-58)

  • The Cardinals extend its lead to 50-32 on a layup by Cam Evans at the 15:10 mark
  • The Yellow Jackets cut the lead down to 54-39 on a trey from sophomore guard Brayden Hamilton (Brunswick) at 11:46
  • Otterbein outscored BW 24-20 down the stretch 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, February 10 when they host an OAC game against Ohio Northern University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7 p.m.
