Men's Basketball Stung by Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team was defeated by Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a score of 86-64 in the ONU Sports Center.

BW Leaders (4-10, 1-6 OAC)

  • Freshman forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way with 17 points and five rebounds
  • Sophomore guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland/St. Edward) recorded his second straight double-digit game with 11 points
  • Sophomore guard Landon Potopsky (Dover/Strasburg) finished with seven points, three rebounds, and two steals
  • Freshman guard Nick Timberlake (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) drilled two three-pointers for six points

ONU Leaders (8-6, 3-4 OAC)

  • Sophomore guard Will Miller had a game-high 18 points
  • Freshman guard Jadi Cunningham Jr. grabbed eight rebounds and scored 11 points
  • Freshman guard Carter Reese and sophomore guard Mason Studer scored 14 points and 13 points respectively

First Half (ONU 49-30)

  • BW got out to a 10-6 lead thanks to four quick points from Reynolds and three quick points from Pestello
  • Studer scored all 13 of his points
  • The Polar Bears shot 60% from the field and 66% from deep
  • The Yellow Jackets led ONU in fast break points 5-4 and scored 12 points in the paint

Second Half (ONU 86-64)

  • Potopsky scored six of his seven points on the night
  • Freshman guard Caden Madigan (Wadsworth), freshman forward Andrew Griffith (Akron/Archbishop Hoban), and Potopsky combined to score nine straight points for BW with four minutes left to play
  • The Brown and Gold shot an efficient 52% from the field including a perfect 4-4 from Pestello
  • Each team scored 10 second chance points

The Yellow Jackets return to the hardwood on Saturday, January 13 as they host an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Wilmington College in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 2 p.m.
