Men's Basketball Closes 2023-24 Season Against Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team concluded the 2023-24 campaign as it fell to Marietta College by a score of 83-65 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup in Ban Johnson Arena.

BW finishes the season with an overall record of 6-19 and a 3-15 record in the OAC. Marietta (16-9, 10-8 OAC) advances to the OAC Tournament as the fifth seed and will travel to Westerville to face fourth-seeded Otterbein in the First Round on Tuesday, February 20 at 7 p.m. 

BW Leaders

  • Junior forward Jarred Logan (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 15 points and added eight rebounds three assists, and a team-high four steals
  • Sophomore guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland/St. Edward) tallied 13 points and four rebounds
  • Senior Academic All-OAC guard Luke Driscoll (Carmel, Calif./Stevenson School) had a career-high 11 rebounds with eight points in his last game for the Brown and Gold

Marietta Leaders

  • Senior forward Sahmi Willoughby finished with a game-high 22 points and 24 of the Pioneers' 48 rebounds
  • Junior forward Ethan Andersen scored 14 points
  • Senior guard David Sanford recorded 13 points and five rebounds

First Half (MC, 34-29)

  • Reynolds scored 11 shooting 3-5 from the field
  • Logan and senior forward Rob Watson III (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) each tallied three of the defense's seven steals in the half
  • BW jumped out to a 10-5 lead three minutes into the game
  • The Yellow Jacket defense caused eight turnovers leading to nine points in transition
  • The Brown and Gold cut a 10-point deficit in half heading into the intermission

Second Half (MC, 83-65)

  • Freshman guard Titus Baskerville IV (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) assisted three of his team-high five times on the day
  • Driscoll grabbed his ninth defensive rebound of the day and his 11th total
  • Watson III and senior guard Lian Levesque (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) each tallied six points in their final game
  • The Yellow Jackets front court scored 22 points in the paint
