Men's Basketball Earns First OAC Win of the Season Over Muskingum

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Muskingum University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a score of 67-62 in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW Leaders (2-4, 1-1 OAC)

  • Freshman forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way with 22 points and seven rebounds
  • Senior Academic All-OAC guard Luke Driscoll (Carmel, Calif./Stevenson School) added six points in his first game back from injury
  • Sophomore guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) tallied 20 points with a game-high nine rebounds
  • Freshman guard Titus Baskerville IV (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) recorded 15 points

Muskingum Leaders (2-3, 0-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore forward Kaelan Pulliam led the Muskies with 21 points
  • Sophomore guard Duane Davis finished with a statline of 11 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high four assists
  • Sophonmore guard Logan Stotzer added 10 points shooting 4-9 and 2-4 from three

First Half (Muskingum 30-28)

  • Pestello and Baskerville IV got the Yellow Jackets started with nine points and eight points respectively
  • BW led Muskingum for over 16 minutes in the first half
  • After being down 28-20, the Fighting Muskies went on a 10 point run into halftime
  • Pulliam and Emig each scored eight points

Second Half (BW 67-62)

  • Ellington scored 15 of his 20 on the night including nine points off of three pointers
  • Pestello threw down a dunk-of-the-year candidate to give BW a 52-47 lead
  • Pulliam carried the Fighting Muskies with another 13 points
  • The Yellow Jackets shot a combined 53.8% from the field compared to Muskingum's 35.7%

BW is back in action on Saturday, December 9 when it travels to Bexley to take on Capital University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup in Performance Arena at the Capital Center at 1 p.m.
