BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team fell to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Heidelberg University on Seniors' Night by a score of 83-71 in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
Before the game, the men's basketball program congratulated senior student-athletes Academic All-OAC guard Luke Driscoll (Carmel, Calif./Stevenson School) and forward Rob Watson III (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) on completing their outstanding basketball careers at BW.
BW Leaders (6-18, 3-14 OAC)
- Watson III led the team with a career-high 15 points while also grabbing eight rebounds in his final home game for the Brown and Gold
- Sophomore guard Brayden Hamilton (Brunswick) scored 14 including 4-9 shooting beyond the arch
- Junior forward Jarred Logan (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) finished with a statline of 13 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high eight assists
Heidelberg Leaders (14-10, 10-7 OAC)
- Junior guard Isaiah Young was the leading scorer for the Berg with 28 points
- Senior forward Eric Panning recorded a 12 rebound- 10 point- double-double
- Junior guard Jashaun Cobb added 17 points
First Half (Heidelberg 33-27)
- After being recognized in the Seniors' Night ceremony, Watson III scored the first bucket for BW and went on to grab five rebounds
- Hamilton led BW with eight of his 14
- Logan dished out three assists and tallied three boards
- The Yellow Jackets led for nearly 13 minutes of the half despite six lead changes
- The Student Princes went on a 7-0 run into the half
Second Half (Heidelberg 81-73)
- Driscoll was the fourth Yellow Jacket to double figures in his last game in Ursprung Gymnasium
- The Yellow Jacket bench outscored the Heidelberg bench 18-15 thanks to 11 points from Logan
- The Brown and Gold caused seven turnovers while only giving up one
- BW cut the lead down to five with a minute left after trailing by as much as 13 points
The Yellow Jackets conclude the 2023-24 season on Saturday, February 17 as they travel to Marietta for an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Marietta College in Ban Johnson Arena at 2 p.m.
