BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Matt Wittels played his freshman season of baseball at Baldwin Wallace University in the spring of 2013. He earned his first varsity letter.
As a freshman in 2012-2013, Matt played his first season of baseball and earned his first varsity letter. He was a relief pitcher who made eight appearances, compiled a 0-1 record with a solid 1.46 earned run average and struck out 10 batters in 12 and one-third innings pitched. Opponents batted .234 against him. Matt helped BW tie the single-season school-record for wins with 27 and produce a 27-13 overall record.
As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Matt is expected to battle for a spot in the pitching rotation and again be a key member of the varsity.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Matt Wittels grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio and graduated from Charles A. Brush High School. He played four years of baseball and lettered three times. Matt also played golf for four years and earned three varsity letters.
In baseball as a junior and senior, Matt was named as an All-Northeast Ohio Conference first team performer. Following his junior season, he was named his teams Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player. In golf, Matt was a two-time All-NOC selection.
