BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Pat Havens played four years of baseball and earned four varsity letters.  

ATHLETIC HONORS:    As a senior in 2013, Pat earned third-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and his third OAC Pitcher of the Week award on March 18. As a junior in 2012, was named as a first-team All-OAC selection and a third-team ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) All-Mideast Region player. On B-W's annual spring break trip to Florida, Pat earned his second career OAC Pitcher of the Week award on March 13, 2012 for his 2-0 record and 0.00 earned run average. Pat also received the Most Outstanding Pitcher award  for the second time in his career, as voted on by the coaches. As a sophomore in 2011, Pat earned his first Most Outstanding Pitcher award, as voted on by the players. As a freshman in 2010, Pat earned his first Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for his efforts in a complete-game eight-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks in an 9-1 win versus Oberlin College (April 22, 2010).

GENERAL BASEBALL INFORMATION:    Pat Havens ended his career as one of the best ever at BW.  He twice earned All-OAC honors (2012 and 2013), including being a first-team pick in 2012, All-Mideast Region honors (2012), three times was the BW Most Outstanding Pitcher Award winner (2011-2013) and three times earned OAC Pitcher of the Week honors. During his four seasons at BW, the Yellow Jackets compiled an 83-66-1 record, including a 54-26 slate his final two seasons.

Individually, Pat pitched in 39 career games, including 30 starts, with eight complete games, five shutouts and a 19-10 record with one save and a 4.09 earned run average. His 19 victories rank fourth all-time and his 12 starts during his senior season is a school-record.

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Pat played his first season of baseball and earned his fisrt varsity letter. He appeared in eight games, including three starts, and posted a 1-4 record with a 7.36 earned run average in 22 innings pitched. He struck out 11 batters. He earned Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for his efforts in a complete-game eight-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks in an 9-1 win versus Oberlin College (April 22).  B-W finished the season 12-23-1 overall in the final season of Bob Fisher's 42-year coaching career.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Pat played in his second season of baseball and earned his second letter. He appeared in nine games, including seven starts, and became the "ace" of the pitching staff as the season progressed. He compiled a 4-1 record with a 4.12 ERA with one complete game.  He recorded 28 strikeouts in a team-leading 43 and two thirds innings pitched and batters hit .274 off of him. Pat received the Most Outstanding Pitcher award as voted on by the players.  B-W finished the season 17-17 overall. 

As a junior in 2010-2011, Pat played in his third season of baseball and earned his third letter. He was the "ace" of the pitching staff as he compiled a 7-1 record with a 2.25 earned run average and struck out 63 batters in 52 innings pitched. He started nine games, completed three, had one individual shutout and combined for two others. Opponents batted just .226 against him this season. He also earned his second career OAC Pitcher of the Week award on March 13 for his 2-0 record and 0.00 ERA on B-W's annual spring break trip to Florida. In addition, Pat was named as a first-team All-OAC selection and a third-team ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) All-Mideast Region player. Pat also received the Most Outstanding Pitcher award  for the second time in his career, as voted on by the coaches. Pat helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a school-record 27 wins and a 27-13 overall record. 

As a senior in 2012-13, Pat played his fourth season of baseball and earned his fourth letter. He was the ace of the pitching staff for the third straight year.  He earned third-team All-OAC honors and was named OAC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 and throwing a shutout during the Yellow Jackets' annual spring break trip to the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. Pat pitched in 12 games, including 11 starts, with three complete games and a shutout, and had a 7-4 record and his first career save. He pitched a team-leading 67 innings, allowed 60 hits, 42 runs (33 earned), led the team with 53 strikeouts and walked 36 batters. His 12 starts this season set a single-season school-record. He helped BW to tie the single-season school-record for wins with 27 and compile a 27-13 overall record.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Pat Havens grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio and graduated from Twinsburg High School. He played four years of baseball and earned two varsity letters.  He also played basketball for two seasons, but did not letter.
