BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a junior in 2013-2014. Eric will compete in his third season of baseball and will be trying to earn his third varsity letter.
GENERAL BASEBALL INFORMATION: Eric has had a solid baseball career thus far. BW has recorded a 54-26 record following his first season in the Brown & Gold. For his career, Eric is hitting .285 (78-of-273) with 46 runs scored, 11 doubles, seven triples, one homerun, four stolen bases, and 63 RBI.
As a freshman in 2012, Eric competed in his first season of baseball and spent most of his time at third base. He appeared in 35 games, starting 34 of them. In his first season he batted .295 (38-of-129) with 16 runs scored, four doubles, five triples, one homerun, two stolen bases, and 31 RBI. B-W won a school-record 27 games to go 27-13 on the season.
As a sophomore in 2012-13, Eric competed in his second season of baseball and earned his second varsity letter. He appeared in 40 games, starting 38 of them. In his second season he batted .278 (40-of-144) with 30 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, two stolen bases and 32 RBI. He helped BW to tie the single-season school-record for wins with 27 and compile a 27-13 overall record.
HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Eric Murphy grew up in Brook Park, Ohio and graduated from Midpark High School. Eric played four years of baseball lettering all four years. He also played two years of basketball and earned one letter.
In baseball as a senior, Eric was awarded Player-of-the-Week one time during his career, and he was named as a first-team All-South West Conference performer.
