BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Chaz McGrain is a junior transfer from Ashland University who played his first season of baseball at Baldwin Wallace University in the spring of 2013. He earned his first varsity letter.
GENERAL BASEBALL INFORMATION : As a junior in 2012-2013, Chaz played his first season of baseball at BW and earned his first varsity letter. He alternated at catcher with Joe Hiller '13. Chaz appeared in 25 games, including 21 starts, and batted .195 (14-for-73) with 12 runs scored, one double, one triple, one home run, 12 runs batted-in (RBI) and four stolen bases in six attempts. Defensively, Chaz had a .985 fielding average (two errors in 134 total chances) and threw out 12 of 40 base stealers (30 percent efficiency). He helped the Yellow Jackets tie the single-season school-record for wins with 27 and compile a 27-13 overall record.
As a seniorin 2013-2014, expect Chaz to battle for the starting role with Hiller and others.
ACADEMIC INFORMATION: Chaz is an exercise science major.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Chaz McGrain grew up in Valley City, Ohio and graduated from Olmsted Falls High School. He played four years of baseball and lettered three times. Chaz also wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters.
In baseball as a junior, Chaz was named as an All-Southwestern Conference performer. As a senior, he was selected as a Mizuno All-Ohio, All-Sun Newspapers and once again All-SWC catcher.
Academically, Chaz was an Academic All-Ohio wrestler and was member of National Honor Society.
