BW Women Finish Third at Sparky Adams Meet

BEREA, Ohio – Junior Division III All-American Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/ Kenston) won two events and the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team placed third at the 2015 Paul "Sparky" Adams Meet at the George Finnie Stadium.

The Yellow Jacket women scored 108.10 points and placed third of 10 teams.

Gallavan won the shot put with a season-best throw of 43-feet and five inches (43'5") and the discus with a throw of 138'6".  In addition to Gallavan for the BW women, junior Maggie Urban (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) won the hammer throw with a school-record toss of 177'9" and the 4x100-meter relay team of junior 3-time All-American Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls), sophomore Rachel Holowecky (Amherst/ Firelands), junior Marissa Hellisz (Parma/ Normandy) and junior Ashley Wakut (Seven Hills/ Parma Normandy) placed first in 51.26 seconds.

Also, senior Dusica Vasic (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Heights) was second in the 3000-meter run in a season-best of 12:08.68, sophomore Lyndsey Armstrong (Ashtabula/ Geneva) was second in the 100-meter hurdles in a season-best of 15.77 seconds, sophomore Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/ Western Reserve) was second in the discus with a throw of 130'0".

BW is back in action next Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 when the Yellow Jackets travel to Alliance to compete at the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet, hosted by the University of Mount Union, at Mount Union Stadium. Action begins at 12 noon on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
