COLUMBUS, Ohio –  Junior All-American thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) and junior thrower Maggie Urban (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) led three members of Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team at the prestigious Jesse Owens Track and Field Classic hosted by The Ohio State University on the Jesse Owens Memorial Track.

The meet comprised of the top student-athletes from Division I, II and III as well as some of the top amateur athletes in the region.

Gallavan finished sixth in the championship shot put event with a career-best throw of 46 feet and 2 inches.   The championship event was separate from the main shot put event as it featured the top shot putters in the region.  Gallavan, who was the lone Division III athlete, competed against nine other Division I opponents.  She also was seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 167 feet.  With her mark in the shot put, Gallavan is seventh in Division III.

Urban
placed fourth in the hammer throw with throw of 172'10".  She is currently fifth in Division III with her school-record toss of 177'9".  Urban also set OAC Championships record last weekend.

In addition, sophomore thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) competed in the discus event but had three unsuccessful throws.  Clouse is currently 13th in Division III with her career-best mark of 142'2", which she had at last weekend's OAC Championships.

BW is back in action on Friday, May 8 when competitors travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania to compete at the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College.
