Gallavan Garners Third Career OAC Outdoor Track Weekly Accolade

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University junior Division III All-American thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/ Kenston) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Gallavan, who is the defending OAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, earned her third career outdoor field athlete of the week honor after placing in the top-10 in three events at University of North Carolina Charlotte 49er Classic last weekend.   She competed against a field mainly comprised of NCAA Division I student-athletes.  This was the second straight season that Gallavan has won the OAC weekly honor after the 49er Classic.

She won the discus with a Division III-best throw of 147 feet and five inches.  Gallavan also placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 42'1.25" and was 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 151'4".    Gallavan's toss in the shot put ranks third in Division III and her mark in the hammer ranks fifth.

The Yellow Jacket outdoor track and field teams are back in action this Saturday, March 28 when they travel to Cedarville to compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open hosted by Cedarville University at 10:30 a.m.
