BW Women Place Third at Cleveland College Meet

BEREA, Ohio –  The Baldwin Wallace University women's track team finished third at the 2015 Cleveland Colleges Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center.

The Yellow Jacket women finished third of five teams with 89 points.

The women were led by junior Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township / Kenston) in the weight throw, with a throw of 55'  10.50" . Gallavan also placed first in shot put with a throw of 44' 10.75''. Sophomore Rachel Holowecky (Amherst / Firelands) placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.41 seconds and placed third in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.39 seconds.

Also for the women, freshman jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) placed third in the long jump recording a distance of 15' 10.25''. Placing second in weight throw was junior Maggie Urban (Cleveland / St. Joseph's Academy) with a throw of 52' 4.50''. Freshman Madeline Ziccardi (Cuyahoga Falls) placed third in shot put with a throw of 37' .50''.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, February 21 when select individuals will compete in the Kent State University Tune-Up Meet at 11 a.m. The 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet is on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28 at Capital University.
