Winters Earns Second Straight and Eighth Career OAC Track Weekly Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior two-time NCAA Division III All-American multi-event performer Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) has earned her fourth indoor track and eighth career Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week honors, including her second straight this winter. She also won the honor last week.
 
Winters earned her eighth OAC Track honors when she won three events and set two school and one Harrison Dillard Track records at the annual OAC North Split Squad Meet on the Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center.
 
Winters won the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles and the long jump. She set a BW school-record and won the 55-meter dash with a 7.29-second timing in the prelims and won the event in 7.33 seconds. Winters set a BW school and Dillard Track-record in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.24 seconds in the finals. It broke a 23-year old Dillard Track mark. Winters, who is ranked second in Division III in the long jump, won that event with a leap of 18'7.25".

Overall, Winters owns six BW school and two Harrison Dillard indoor track marks. She owns school indoor marks in the 55-merer dash, 60-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles, 60-meter hurdles, long jump and pentathlon (five events). Winters owns Dilard Track marks in the 55-meter hurdles and long jump.
 
Winters and the rest of the BW multi-event student-athletes are back in action this Saturday and Sunday, February 8-9 when they compete at the annual All-Ohio Multi-Event Championships hosted by Denison University in the Mitchell Fieldhouse. Competition is slated to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
