BW Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 2 Ohio Wesleyan, 2-1

DELAWARE --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team lost to No. 2 nationally-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-1, on the Roy Rike Field.

With its victory, Ohio Wesleyan improved to 9-0-0 overall while Baldwin Wallace fell to 2-4-2 with their loss.
The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring in the 11th-minute as sophomore forward Aaron Harden (Mentor) scored his second goal of the season when his shot hit the crossbar and crossed over the goal line for a 1-0 BW advantage.
The Battling Bishops leveled the scoreline in the 32nd-minute with a goal from sophomore midfielder Brian Schaefer, who was assisted by senior midfielder Paolo Bucci.
In the second half, Ohio Wesleyan took a one-goal advantage over Baldwin Wallace in the 64th-minute when junior midfielder Colton Bloecher scored. The goal was assisted by sophomore forward Evan Lee.

In goal for BW, senior Tyler Beaton (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) faced 38 total shots, including 15 on-goal, allowed two goals and made 13 saves and is now 2-4-2 overall.
The Battling Bishops outshot the Yellow Jackets by a 38-13 count and the battle of corner kicks, 13-0.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Tuesday, Sept. 24 when the men travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to play Waynesburg University at 6:00 p.m.
