BEXLEY, Ohio -- The fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team ended its season with a record of 7-11- 3 as the fourth-seeded Capital University Crusaders won the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal match by a final score of 2-1 at Bernlohr Stadium.

The Crusaders (8-7-3) scored two unanswered goals in the second half and now advance to play top-seeded and regular season champion Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, November 6 at 2 p.m.

Just like in the regular season meeting between BW and Capital, the game's first goal was scored in the 18th minute when Yellow Jacket sophomore forward Zach Smith (Parma/Normandy) collected a rebound off Crusader senior goalie Bob Weisgarber and buried it into the back of the net for his third goal and ninth point of the season.

Capital tied the game at 1-1 when sophomore defender Josh Spaw tapped in the loose ball off a corner kick in the 72nd minute.

The Crusaders won the game in the 87 minute when Weisgarber scored his first career goal as he took the free kick from 65-yards out and the ball bounced over BW senior goalie Tyler Beaton (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) for the game-winner.

In goal for the Yellow Jackets, Beaton faced 15 shots, including nine on-goal, allowed two goals and made seven saves in his final career-match.

Capital outshot the BW by a 15-12 count and had a 12-9 advantage in corner kicks.
