BW Men's Soccer Falls To Allegheny (Pa.) College

BEREA – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell to visiting Allegheny (Pa.) College, 2-1, on the Tressel Field in The George Finnie Stadium.

The Gators (4-1-2) opened the scoring when sophomore Brenton Stoddart scored his first goal of the season in the 40th minute on a loose ball in the box.
The Yellow Jackets (2-3-2) evened the score at 1-1 when junior defender Bill Gamble (Brunswick) headed in the throw in from senior and Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Judson Sprandel(Akron/Green) in the 62nd minute.  The goal was the second of the season for Gamble.

Allegheny regained the lead 2-1 when Liam McNamee hit a shot into the upper 90 off the free kick from Alex Eterington in the 66th minute.
  Keith Danley took the free kick from midfield and the ball bounced once in the box and McNamee buried it.
In goal for BW, senior Tyler Beaton (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) faced nine total shots, including six on-goal, allowed two goals and made four saves and is now 2-3-2 overall.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Gators by a 20-9 count and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
BW is back in action this Saturday, September 21 when it travels to Delaware to face No. 2-nationally ranked and 2011 NCAA Division III National Champion Ohio Wesleyan University in the second game of men's and women's soccer doubleheader at 7:30 p.m.
