Today's Contest
Today is the seventh game of the 2022 season, the third home game and the sixth Ohio for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts Otterbein University Cardinals on Community and Family Day and Homecoming. Last week, BW defeated Muskingum University by a final score of 35-21 in the Hall of Fame and 44th Lee Tressel Shrine Classic game.  Otterbein was idle last week but in their last game the Cardinals fell to Muskingum by a final score of 41-35 in double overtime. 

The Series
BW and Otterbein are meeting for the 53rd time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 39-12-1 all-time series, including winning the past three meetings. The series began in 1925 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Cardinals, 7-0, in Berea. 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his sixth season at BW and has a record of  33-14 and OAC slate of 27-13. He is 100-39 in his 14th overall season and is 3-1 against Otterbein. 

Otterbein Head Coach Tim Doup
Doup is in his 11th season at Otterbein and has a career record of 41-60 and an OAC record of  37-54.  He is 5-4 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Game vs. Otterbein -- September 11,  2021

BW scored 41 points on 259 yards rushing, and 95 yards passing and 354 total yards.  Otterbein scored 10 points on 136 yards passing, 54 yards rushing and 190 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week six of the season, BW never trailed in the game as it scored 35 points on 323 yards rushing and 148 yards passing for 390 yards of total offense. Muskingum scored 21 points  on 336 yards passing, 51 yards rushing for 387 total yards.

BW Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) has completed 66-of-130 passes for 943 yards with nine touchdowns and eight interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is second in the OAC in yards with 617 yards and carries with 127  and has three touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps with 289  yards on 19 catches with two touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton)  tops the team and is fifth in the OAC with 52 tackles. Junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay) is second on the squad 43 stops. Senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) is third on the team with 37 tackles.

Scouting the Cardinals
In week six of the season, Otterbein scored 35 points, including seven in the first over time period, on 313 yard passing, 92 yards rushing and 405 total yards.  Muskingum scored 41 points, including six in the second overtime period, on 203 yards passing, 173 yards rushing and 376 total yards

Otterbein Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Eason Hardouin has completed 91-of-154 passes for 994 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.  Senior running back All-OAC Siraj Muhammad has rushed for 470 yards on 78 carries with four touchdowns. Sophomore wide out Damien Whaley  has caught 31 passes for 196 yards with two touchdowns while freshman tight end Christian Pataky has reeled in 18 passes for 289 yards with two touchdowns. Defensively, sophomore Justin Bartlett tops the team and is seventh in the OAC with 51 tackles.

Rushing Towards Records
Murray, Jr. is rushing his way into the record books at BW.  The All-OAC running back is already the all-time leading rusher with 3,332 yards and carries with 680.  Murray, Jr. needs two touchdowns to set the career touchdown record of 40.
