Steele Garners First Career OAC Football Defensive Player of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the first time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University sophomore defensive back Alden Steele (Lorain/Amherst) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week. 

Steele garners the honor for his efforts in BW's 35-31 comeback victory over Ohio Northern University on Parents' and Family Day.  He took full advantage of his first career start at safety as just seven seconds into the game, Steele recovered the opening kickoff fumble and returned it 11 yards for his first career touchdown.  In addition, Steele recorded a career and game-high 14 tackles with 1.5 tackles for a loss and a quarterback sack.

This season, he has appeared in three games and has recorded 16 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.

In his career, Steele has played in four games and has 16 career tackles.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 1 when it travels to Marietta for an OAC game against Marietta College inside Don Drumm Stadium at 5 p.m.  Fans can purchase tickets for the game at https://bit.ly/3f7wWH8.
