Today's Contest
Today is the sixth game of the 2022 season, the second home game and the fifth Ohio for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts Muskingum University Fighting Muskies in the Hall of Fame and 44th Lee Tressel Shrine Classic game. Last week, BW was idle but in it defeated Marietta College by a final score of 33-29 on October 1.  Muskingum defeated Otterbein University by a final score of 41-35 in double overtime.

The Series
BW and Muskingum are meeting for the 65th time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 49-13-2 all-time series lead, including winning 14 of the last 16 contests.  In the last 16 meetings, BW has outscored the Muskies by a margin of 497-226.  The series began in 1917 when Muskingum defeated the Yellow Jackets, 25-7, in New Concord.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert
Hilvert is in his sixth season at BW and has a record of 32-14 and OAC slate of 26-13. He is 99-39 in his 14th overall season and is 5-0 against Muskingum.

Ieuter is in his fifth season at Muskingum and has a record of 16-22 and an OAC mark of 12-22.  He is 0-4 against Baldwin Wallace

Last Game vs. Muskingum -- October 30, 2021
BW scored 49 points on 364 yards rushing, and 109 yards passing and 473 total yards.  Muskingum scored 10 points on 132 yards passing, 18 yards rushing and 150 total yards.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week five of the season, BW scored 33 points on 305 yards passing and 85 yards rushing for 390 yards of total offense. Marietta scored 29 points on 249 yards passing and 79 yards passing for 328 yards of total offense. The Yellow Jackets scored the game winning touchdown with six seconds remaining as junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) connected with sophomore wide out Mikel Love (Fort Pierce, Fla./Westwood) on a 17-yard pass.  It marked the second touchdown thrown for Marousek in the final 1:08 of the contest. 

BW Leaders
Offensively, Marousek has completed 57-of-113 passes for 845 yards with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is third in the OAC with 465 yards on 96 carries with two touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps with 272 yards on 17 catches with two touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton) tops the team and is fourth in the OAC with 52 tackles. Junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay) is second on the squad 36 stops. Senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) is third on the team with 35 tackles.

Scouting the Fighting Muskies
In week five of the season, Muskingum scored 41 points on 203 yards passing, 173 yards rushing and 376 total yards. Otterbein scored 35 points on 313 yards passing, 92 yards rushing and 405 total yards. The Fighting Muskies scored the game winning touchdown in the second overtime period when senior All-OAC quarterback Jordan Garrett, who is this week's OAC Offensive Player of the Week, hit senior wide out Ja'Lin Goodman on a one-yard pass.  It was the sixth touchdown of the game for Garrett.

Muskingum Leaders
Offensively, Garrett has completed 92-of-144 passes for 951 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.  Garrett's 951 yards rank fifth in the OAC and his 11 touchdowns is fourth best.  Senior running back Donny Wilkinson has rushed for 199 yards on 63 carries with two touchdowns.  Senior All-OAC wide receiver Zuri Edmondson has caught 28 passes for 311 yards with four touchdowns. His 28 catches rank him third in the OAC while his 311 yards is good for sixth.  Defensively, sophomore linebacker Austin Wilforth leads the team and is fifth in the OAC with 46 tackles. 

Rushing Towards Records
Murray, Jr. is rushing his way into the record books at BW.  The All-OAC running back is already the all-time leading rusher with 3,095 yards and carries with 627.  Murray, Jr. needs three touchdowns to set the career touchdown record of 40.

Community Day & Homecoming
BW will host its Community Day and Homecoming on the same day in a Bold and Gold Festival on Saturday, October 22 as the Yellow Jackets host Otterbein University at 2 p.m. The day kicks off with the annual Homecoming Parade and Bold and Gold Tailgate.
