Today's Contest
Today is the first home game of the 2022 season and the third Ohio Athletic Conference game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts Ohio Northern University on Parents' and Family Day. Last week, BW fell to crosstown rival John Carroll University by a final score of 21-7.  Ohio Northern fell to No. 22 nationally-ranked Heidelberg University by a final score of 37-3.

The Series
BW and Ohio Northern are meeting for the 47th time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 31-14-1 advantage in the all-time series  BW has won eight of the last 13 meetings. The Polar Bears won the first meeting in 1923 by a final score of 20-13. 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his sixth season at BW and has a record of  30-14 and OAC slate of 24-13. He is 97-39 in his 14th overall season and is 2-2 against Ohio Northern. 

Ohio Northern Head Coach Dean Paul 
Paul is in his 19th season at Ohio Northern and is the all-time winningest coach in program history with a record of 115-64. He has an OAC mark of  97-53. Paul is 155-76 in 24 overall seasons and is 6-11 against BW.   

Last Game vs. Ohio Northern -- November 6,  2021
BW scored 17 points on 213 yards rushing, and 122 yards passing and 335  total yards.  Ohio Northern scored 14 points on 159 yards passing, 92 yards rushing and 251 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week three of the season, BW scored seven points on 222 yards passing and 120 yards rushing for 342 yards of total offense. John Carroll scored 21 points on 157 yards passing and 157 yards rushing for 314 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) has completed 30-of-58 passes for 358 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is second in the OAC with 291 yards on 57 carries.  Murray, Jr. is also tied for third in the OAC with two rushing touchdowns. Senior wideout Elijah Arnett (Akron/Woodridge) leads the receiving corps with 136 yards on 11 catches. Defensively, senior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton)  tops the team and is tied for second in the OAC with 33 tackles. Senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) and junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay) are tied for second on the squad and tied for seventh in the OAC with 25 stops.

Scouting the Polar Bears
In week three of the season, Ohio Northern scored three  points on 172 yards passing, 112 yards rushing and 289 total yards. Heidelberg  scored 37 points on 230 yards rushing, 94 yards passing and 324 total yards. 

Ohio Northern Leaders
Offensively, senior Academic All-OAC quarterback Trevor McConnell has completed 49-of-98 passes for 509 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions. Senior  All-OAC and Academic All-OAC running back Brock Martin leads the ground game as he has rushed for 173 yards on 59 carries.  Senior All-OAC wide out Austin Eick leads the aerial attack with 17 catches for 236 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, sophomore defensive back Dalton Tjong leads the squad with 27 tackles and four pass breakups.

Rushing Towards Records
Murray, Jr. is rushing his way into the record books at BW.  The All-OAC running back is already the all-time leading rusher with 3,006 yards and carries with 610.  Murray, Jr. needs three touchdowns to set the career touchdown record of 40.

Athletics Roadshow
Every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. the Department of Athletics hosts the Athletics Roadshow live from Mike's Bar and Grill in Downtown Berea.  Each week the show which airs on bwyellowjackets.com will recap and preview Yellow Jacket events as well as interview coaches and student-athletes.

44th Lee Tressel Shrine Classic
BW will host the 44th Lee Tressel Shrine Classic on Saturday, October  15 as the Yellow Jackets host Muskingum University at 1:30 p.m.  Partial gate proceeds from the game will go to the Shriners' burn and orthopedic hospitals.

Hall of Fame Game
BW will induct the 2022 members of its Athletics Alumni Association Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 15 prior to the Ohio Athletic Conference game between BW and Muskingum University at 1:30 p.m.. The newest inductees will be introduced to the Finnie Stadium crowd between the first and second quarters.

Community Day & Homecoming
BW will host its Community Day and Homecoming on the same day in a Bold and Gold Festival on Saturday, October 22 as the Yellow Jackets host Otterbein University at 2:00 p.m.
