Today's Contest
Today is the tenth and final regular season game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts an Ohio Athletic Conference, Seniors' Day and Veterans Appreciation Day game against No. 2 nationally ranked and defending OAC Champion University of Mount Union.  Last Saturday, BW rallied from a 13-0 fourth quarter deficit to defeat Heidelberg University 21-20 in its first overtime game since 2016.  Mount Union claimed a share of its 33rd OAC title with a 34-28 victory over No. 22 nationally ranked John Carroll University in Alliance.

The Series
BW and Mount Union have met 59 times on the gridiron.  The Purple Raiders lead the all-time series by a margin of 37-21-1, including winning the last 26 contests. The series began in 1896 as the Yellow Jackets posted a 10-0 victory in Alliance.  The last BW win came in 1994 when it knocked off Mount Union by a final score of 23-10 in Alliance.  The last Yellow Jacket victory in Berea was in 1991 which also was the last time the Purple Raiders lost an OAC road game as BW won  by a final score of 21-18.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his seventh season at BW and has a record of  36-14 and OAC slate of 29-13. He is 103-39 in his 14th overall season and is 0-4 against Mount Union. 

Mount Union Head Coach Geoff Dart: 
Dart is in his third season at Mount Union and has a career record of 26-1 and an OAC record of  2-1.  He is 0-1 against Baldwin Wallace.

Last Game vs. Mount Union --September 18,  2021
BW scored seven points on 140 yards passing and 120 yards rushing for 260 yards of total offense.  Mount Union scored 31 points on 321 yards passing and 142 yards rushing for 463 yards of total offense. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week nine of the season, BW scored 21 points on 197 yards passing and 106 yards passing for 303 yards of total offense. Heidelberg scored 20 points on 239 yards rushing, 76 yards passing for 315 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) has completed 88-of-170 passes for 1189 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is third in the OAC in yards with 856 yards and second in carries with 181. He is tied for sixth in the league with six touchdowns. Junior Elijah Arnett (Akron/Woodridge)  leads the receiving corps in yards with 396 yards and catches with 30 catches. Arnett is tied for team lead with three touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) and junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay)are tied for the team lead with 61 stops. Jackson is first in tackles for loss with eighth. Junior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton), who returned last week after missing three games, is third on the squad with 60 tackles.  Levasseur and O'Donoghue are tied for second on team with seven tackles for loss.

Scouting the Purple Raiders
In week nine of the season, Mount Union scored 34 points on 367 yards passing and 73 yards passing for 440 yards of total offense.  John Carroll scored 28 points on 215 yards passing and  99  yards rushing for 314 yards of total offense.

Mount Union Leaders
Offensively, senior All-OAC quarterback Braxton Plunk leads the OAC and its third in Division III with 2,806 yards, first in the league and second in Division III in touchdowns with 33 and leads the conference and is 10th in Division III in completions with 204.  Plunk is second in the OAC with 268 attempts.  Senior All-OAC running back DeAndre Parker leads the OAC in touchdowns with 15 fourth in the league in yards with 848 and carries with 151.  Senior All-OAC wide out Wayne Ruby, Jr. leads the conference  and Division III with 19 touchdowns, leads the OAC and is fourth in Division III in yards with 1,095 and leads the OAC in receptions with 55.  Defensively, junior All-OAC linebacker Mason McMillen tops the team and is seventh in the league with 73 tackles. 

Rushing King
Murray, Jr. is atop all of the rushing records in school history.  The All-OAC running back is the all-time leaders in yards with 3,571 yards, carries with 734 and touchdowns with 40.

BW campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, broadcasts most home and away football games. You also can listen to the games live at www.wbwc.com.  The pregame show generally starts 20 minutes prior to kickoff.
