Today's Contest
Today is the ninth game of the 2022 season, the final road game of the season and the eighth Ohio Athletic Conference clash for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Tiffin to take on the Heidelberg University Student Princes.  Last week, BW posted a 48-7 victory over Capital University.  Heidelberg defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 57-7 on the road.

The Series
BW has faced Heidelberg more times on the gridiron than any other opponent as the teams have played 74 games.  The Yellow Jackets hold an 50-24 all-time series lead. The series began in 1897 when BW won by a final score of 10-0 in Berea. 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert
Hilvert is in his sixth season at BW and has a record of  35-14 and OAC slate of 29-13. He is 102-39 in his 14th overall season and is 4-0 against Heidelberg.

Heidelberg Head Coach Scott Donaldson
Donaldson is in his seventh season at Heidelberg and has an overall record of 41-21 and an OAC mark of 37-20.  He is 1-4 vs. Baldwin Wallace

Last Game vs. Heidelberg –September 25, 2021
BW scored 20 points on 206 yards rushing, and 144 yards passing and 350 total yards.  Heidelberg scored 10 points on 211 yards passing, 71 yards rushing and 282 total yards.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week eight of the season, BW scored 48 points on 273 yards rushing and 206 yards passing for 479 yards of total offense. Capital scored seven points on 130 yards rushing, 44 yards passing for 174 total yards.

BW Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) has completed 75-of-145 passes for 1039 yards with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is second in the OAC in yards with 780 yards and carries with 156.He is tied for fifth in the league with six touchdowns. Junior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps with 338 yards on 24 catches with three touchdowns. Defensively, junior linebacker Vontae Jackson (Cleveland/John Hay) tops the team with 56 tackles. Junior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla. / South Walton), who has missed the last three games, is second with 52 tackles.  Senior linebacker Dillon O'Donoghue (Canonsburg, Pa. /Cannon-McMillian) is third on the team with 49 tackles 

Scouting the Student Princes
In week eight of the season, Heidelberg scored 57 points on 236 yards rushing,177 yards passing and 413 total yards.  Wilmington scored seven points on 103 yards rushing, 71 yards passing and 174 total yards.

Heidelberg Leaders
Offensively, junior All-OAC quarterback Drew Sims has completed 80-of-137 passes for 1227 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.  Junior All-OAC running back Montavious Yearby is fifth in the OAC with in yards rushing with 651 and carries with 123.  Yearby has scored five touchdowns.  Senior All-OAC wide receiver Dimitri Penick has caught 35 passes for 501 yards with four touchdowns.  Defensively, junior All-OAC linebacker Easton St. Clair has recorded 56 tackles. 

Seniors' Day
The final 2022 regular season game on November 12 against No. 2 nationally-ranked University of Mount Union will be Seniors' Day.  Prior to the game, the University and the football program will honor its 17 football student-athletes.   At halftime, the University will recognize its senior members of cheerleading and marching band. 

Veterans Appreciation Day
The regular season finale vs. No. 2 nationally-ranked University of Mount Union will be also be Veteran Appreciation Day.  During its halftime performance, the marching band will play the fight songs of all of the military branches and ask for all veterans and current military to stand during the fight song of the branch of their service.

Rushing King
Murray, Jr. is atop all of the rushing records in school history.  The All-OAC running back is the all-time leaders in yards with 3,485 yards, carries with 709 and touchdowns with 40.

Every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. the Department of Athletics hosts the Athletics Roadshow live from Mike's Bar and Grill in Downtown Berea.  Each week the show which airs on bwyellowjackets.com will recap and preview Yellow Jacket events as well as interview coaches and student-athletes.

BW campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, broadcasts most home and away football games. You also can listen to the games live at www.wbwc.com.  The pregame show generally starts 20 minutes prior to kickoff.
