Kendall Named American Football Coaches Association All-American

WACO, Texas – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC defensive back Anthony Kendall (Port Richey, Fla./River Ridge) has been named an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) second-team All-American. 

Kendall, who garners his first All-American accolade, becomes the 162nd all-time All-American for BW.  Also, he is one of seven Ohio Athletic Conference players to be named to the first or second teams.

Earlier this fall, Kendall was named the OAC Lee Tressel Defensive Back of the Year, a D3football.com All-District 4 first-team corner back and a first-team All-OAC selection.

This season in 10 games, he led BW, the OAC, and was tied for 13th in NCAA Division III with a career-high 12 pass breakups.  Kendall led the Yellow Jackets and was tied for third in the league with a career-best three interceptions. He was fourth on the team with a career-high 56 tackles.  Kendall also recorded a career-best four tackles for loss, his first career forced fumble and first career sack at Capital on October 29. 

For his career, Kendall appeared in 31 games and recorded 127 tackles, including 10 for a loss, 20 pass breakups, six interceptions, one forced fumble and one sack.  He was a two-time All-OAC selection.

Off the field, Kendall is an Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.  

BW finished the season with a 7-3 overall record and in third place in the OAC with a mark of 7-2.
